Our robotics club is heading to Provincials to compete in the Robot Hockey Challenge.
Students have spent the last two months planning, designing and building robots for this challenge to compete in our regional event for the central Island. 7 teams participated in this event including, 2 Dover Bay teams, Wellington, Ladysmith, Francis Kelsey and Cowichan. With our first place finish one of our teams qualified for the Provincial event. It was great to see the dedication, the teamwork, and commitment to building and programming the robots for final competition. Members of our club included:
Autonomous Robots: The team of Reef Roos, Seth Doyle, Reid Popkin and the team of Hiroki Nariyoshi and Xiaorui Liu
Tele-Operated Robots: Marina Pelletier, Reese Arden, Mark Ratzlaff, Scott Wiebe, Colby Lawson, David Liu, Haitao Xiao
Congratulations to our two students entered to compete at Provincials: Xiaorui Liu and Marina Pelletier and a big shout out to Mark Ratzlaff and Scott Wiebe for the main design of our tele-operated robots.
