As we celebrate LGBTQ2S+ Pride, students can enter to win prizes by guessing how many skittles are in the jar (that will be at the office window). It’s as easy as scanning a QR code. Closest guess wins! The prize includes: 2 tokens for Burnt Honey Ice Cream, all the skittles in the jar, and some rainbow candy. Dover Beach Volleyball
Congratulations to all the athletes that competed this past Saturday in the Island High School Beach Open in Parksville. Dover had 16 teams competing in all age groups. We had 2 teams winning Island Championships: Sophie and Kiona won the Grade 8 girls division, and Shawn and Alex won the Junior Boys. As well, Kendra and Katie finished 2nd in Grade 9 girls, while Rachel and Anrika won silver in Grade 11 girls. All the teams competed hard and represented Dover well. Special thanks to Mrs. Webb and both
Mr. Webbs for coming out and spending the day feeding, watering, and coaching the kids.

The Film & Television class are now searching for actors in our upcoming short film drama “The life of a screenwriter”.
We are looking for a male actor for our protagonist and for two female actors as side characters. If you just want to get some experience on set we are also looking for some Extras. Actors need to look older and mature!
FREE FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED ON SHOOTING DAYS!!!

Congratulations to our Dover Bay Robotics Team for a strong showing at the Skills Canada Nationals Competition in Winnipeg. Marina and Xiaoriu, representing Team BC finished 5-4 overall in round robin play and had two close tournament games against New Brunswick and Alberta, losing 8-6 and 19-17. Marina and Xiaoriu defeated Team Ontario in round robin play. Team Ontario later on won the Nationals against Sasketchewan and New Brunswick coming third.
Thank you to all the members of our team and please come and see Mr. Spillman in room E104 at lunch for an inventory clean up announcement.

Girls Group will run today at 12:40-1:50 p.m. in C106.
Eco Club will be holding a multimedia competition during the month of May. This year, the theme is “Nature Through Your Lens”.
The competition will have two categories, photography and art. All submissions should include your name, grade, and a short description on how the submission fits the theme. Students are able to submit either a single photo or an album of 3 to 5 photos for the photography category.
The winners of the competition will win either a drawing tablet for the art category, or a polaroid camera for the photography category. Send in submissions by May 31st for a chance to win. Submissions and questions can be sent to dbs.ecoclub@gmail.com

Youth Wellness Van
The Youth Wellness Van is at school today until noon. Visits are completely confidential. The nurse accepts walk ins and can help with all your health-related questions. The van is parked outside B wing until 12 noon.

Students Council meets today at lunch in E211.
Chess Club meets today at lunch in D102.

Jr. Performing Arts
The performing arts academy’s Jr. class will be performing the Alibis Wednesday, May 31st to Friday, June 2nd. Tickets are $10 each and they can be purchased at the office or at the door.
Athletics
Intramural Hockey
Intramural Hockey is today in the gym, please check the schedule online using the QR code posted around the school or listen here for the schedule. All games start at 11:35 and end at 11:55. Setting up and Clean up is done by all players and volunteers. Team Captains – please remind your team that at the end of each game, they clean up the benches and equipment goes back nicely into the equipment room. We are back for our last week of the regular season.
